Description
Main Responsibilities
- Commodity Strategy: Establish and refresh commodity strategy aligning with commodity market, technology development, business strategy and general synergy, under support of commodity manager.
- Cost Saving Initiative: Drive commodity costs down through contract negotiation, leveraging ever-changing market dynamics, VA/VE and introducing new technology or new supplier. Manage and report monthly financial roadmap on cost savings and rebates. Travel to different Yanfeng plants regularly to drive cost saving projects to timely execution
- Strategic Sourcing: Conduct RFQs for new programs/projects, price negotiations and sourcing recommendations under commodity strategy and business operating system; ensure launch deliverables are completed on time and on target.
- Price Management: Manage and update prices with each supplier on its own contract term monthly/quarterly/annually on time and accurately; make sure contract terms match what the plants buy on MOQ, Incoterm and lead time
- Manage Raw Material Contract with Tier Suppliers: Work with direct purchasing team to support tier suppliers’ needs regarding raw material, set up and sign sale contract, manage releases from tier suppliers, releases to raw material suppliers, actual shipments, receipts, sales & invoicing. Manage price changes associated with market economic change and work with direct team on consequent component price change. Have monthly meeting with controllers to make sure we have zero inventory, matched receipts and sales record, and make sure profitability for the cost centers
- Supplier Relationship Management: Manage and maintain good relationships with suppliers to mitigate supply risk & secure operation continuity, dispute resolution and support on Purchase to Pay (PTP) process.
Investigate and develop new suppliers under commodity strategy; annual business review with key suppliers to ensure we are up to date on supplier’s business performance and strategy
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute strategic projects to improve supply chain efficiency under evolving business needs and conduct all departments to accountability in its execution
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or Finance, with master’s degree desired
- Automotive manufacturing background preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant professional and/or internship experience
- Ability to analyze contracts, understand key contract provisions, and terms & conditions
- Able to gather market information, understand industry reports, analyze data & forecast, translate into financial implication and prepare/lead negotiation to ensure Yanfeng financial, quality, delivery, cost savings and other corporate goals are met
- Fluent in English
