Role Description We are looking for a technical leader with strong experience in enterprise application development, system design, and building high-performing engineering teams, who can remain hands-on in solving complex technical challenges while owning team delivery and growth.

Role and Responsibilities

- Lead and manage an application engineering team responsible for device management, configuration management, analytics, and application infrastructure.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, system design, development, code reviews, and complex problem-solving.
- Drive the development of scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable enterprise-grade applications.
- Own the technical direction across multiple application areas and ensure consistency in architecture and engineering practices.
- Guide the design and development of services for device management, configuration,



telemetry, data processing, analytics, and visualization.
- Design and develop event-driven and asynchronous systems using Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
- Drive the application infrastructure required to deploy, operate, and scale applications in a Kubernetes-based environment.
- Establish strong engineering practices around coding standards, code quality, automated testing, performance, observability, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, QA, Release, and other stakeholders to define requirements, break down complex problems, and ensure predictable delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive sustainable fixes.
- Own team execution, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, performance management, and delivery commitments.
- Mentor engineers and senior engineers and support their technical and professional growth.
- Participate in hiring and building a strong engineering team with the required technical capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering productivity, product quality, and development processes.

Technical Skills Requirements

- Strong hands-on experience in system design, microservices architecture, and high-performance applications.
- Strong software development experience with Java and Python, with deep expertise in at least one of these languages.
- Strong experience with enterprise Java technologies, including Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and JPA/Hibernate.
- Strong understanding of Python-based application development and relevant frameworks.
- Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and software development best practices.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems.




- Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, and data-intensive applications.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and production application deployments.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills across application and distributed-system layers.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, OpenStack, OpenShift, or Nutanix AHV.

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Experience working on networking, infrastructure, security, or other enterprise products.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts.
- Experience with analytics, telemetry pipelines, time-series data, or large-scale data processing.
- Familiarity with observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar tools.
- Experience working with on-premises or appliance-based products.
- Experience driving automation and improvements in engineering productivity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 10 years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in developing and delivering enterprise-grade products.
- 3 years of experience leading and managing software engineering teams, including people management responsibilities.
- Proven experience taking complex features or products from architecture and design through development, testing, release, and production.
- Demonstrated ability to remain hands-on technically while leading a team and owning delivery.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers and build a high-performing engineering team.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an agile product development environment.
- A proven high performer and team player, with the ability to take ownership, make sound technical decisions, and lead complex initiatives.
