We are seeking a results-driven Technical Sales Specialist with experience in next generation sequencing (NGS) and molecular biology techniques, based in Mexico City. The candidate will combine technical expertise with sales expertise to support distributors and customers, build relationships with researchers and lab managers, drive MGI product adoption, and achieve revenue targets across academic, clinical, and distributor accounts.
Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Generate and qualify leads, manage pipeline in CRM, prepare proposals, and close deals.
Serve as the technical lead for customer engagements, in-person or remotely.
Provide guidance on NGS workflows (library prep, sequencing platforms, data QC).
Collaborate with applications scientists and technical support to resolve customer doubts and problems quickly.
Bachelor's or master's degree in molecular biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related life-science field.
~3+ years industry experience in technical sales or field/application support for NGS and molecular biology products OR 5+ years combined lab experience plus sales/business development experience.
~ Proven track record meeting sales targets and managing complex technical sales cycles.
~ Hands-on experience with NGS workflows (library prep, sequencing platforms, sample QC) and common molecular biology methods (PCR/qPCR, nucleic acid extraction, electrophoresis).
~ Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and preparing technical proposals/quotes.
~ Willingness to travel LATAM countries (typically 30–50%) and work adaptable hours to support customers. Established network within local/regional research or clinical communities.
Ability to run or supervise on-site demos and sample prep for customers.
