Job Responsibilities
- Perform standard system programming activities, such as configuration, installation & maintenance using SMP/E, as well as vendor software installations, in the mainframe environment.
- Perform Operating System upgrades and RSU maintenance via z/OSMF Workflow.
- Advanced System Management: Architect, install, and configure highly complex z/OS environments and third-party software.
- Support Software Standardization and new Feature implementations.
- Support other teams: storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, networking, and operating procedures from a z/OS perspective.
- Work with Mainframe System Programmers staff across tracks to enhance the mainframe environment.
- Assist team members in solving problems, driving innovative improvements, and making decisions.
- Identify and implement system and process improvements in the z/OS environment. Work with application support teams and other internal customers to facilitate business initiatives.
Experience Level
- 12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS and ISVs.
Technical Key Skills (Mandatory Skills)
- Expertise in performing SMP/E and Non-SMPE Installation of ISV products.
- Expertise in IBM and Broadcom Software product installation and Upgrades.
