Position Summary The Senior Backend Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and services that support enterprise digital products and applications. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to architect high-performing solutions, optimize system performance, implement security best practices, and contribute to technical strategy. Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain server-side applications and network components.

- Design and implement scalable backend services for business-critical applications.

- Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and responsiveness of backend systems.

- Develop high-performance applications using testable, reusable, and efficient code.

- Design and maintain database structures and integrations.

- Implement security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions.

- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot application issues.

- Perform diagnostic testing and resolve software defects.

- Provide technical support and guidance for backend-related issues.

- Document development processes, technical solutions, and database schemas.

- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.

- Recommend and implement improvements to existing technologies, processes, and architecture.

- Contribute to technical planning, best practices, and engineering standards.

Requirements:

- 4+ years of software engineering experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js development.

- Experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Python.

- Strong backend development expertise.





- Experience designing and building scalable APIs and backend services.

- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.

- Strong understanding of software architecture and application performance optimization.

- Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues.

- Knowledge of security best practices and data protection principles.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Availability to occasionally support urgent application issues outside normal business hours.
