Job Purpose:Cross-border Procurement Associate is an entry level position focused on training and development in Cross-border Procurement development.Duties and responsibilities:- Call Cross-border carrier providers to fulfill commitments made to customers- Negotiate rates- Document and communicate offers- Use discretion to book loads- Use discretion to determine when to bring options above the notated Carrier Buy Rates to service our existing clients- Obtain proper paperwork where applicable- Develop and manage carrier portfolio of "owned cross-border carriers"- Absorb and apply material learned in training- Get accustomed to both internal and external TMS platforms- Provide load coverage assistance for harder to cover lanes- Generate carrier capacity for cross-border targeted lanes from BG's internally built database, as well as other outside sources the Cross-border Procurement Associate has access to.
- High volume lanes- Customer commitments and future opportunities- Problem lanes- Niche markets- Hit target KPI's for call volumes, carrier files updated, loads booked- Develop entry level cross-border freight broker sales and negotiation skills- Follow proper carrier qualification (ORCA) and onboarding processes (RMIS)- Build a sales portfolio from carrier cold calls- Assist in developing and updating cross-border pricing- Integrate carriers with tracking and booking automation platforms- Communicate late deliveries and issue resolution when necessaryQualifications:- Entry level training period- Posses willingness to learn and excel- Strong work ethic- Willingness to be coached and hit target KPI's
