About We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Safety Engineer to ensure the safety and reliability of our autonomous robotic systems for vehicle control. The role involves assessing safety risks, defining requirements, and implementing measures throughout the product development lifecycle. The Functional Safety Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into the design, development, verification, and validation of our technologies, adhering to industry standards and regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization by fostering an environment where safety is prioritized and integrated into daily operations. Develop and implement functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control systems. Conduct safety analysis, including Hazard and Risk Assessment (HARA), Systems Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated into the design and development process. Review safety verification and validation activities, including safety testing and simulation. Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and regulatory requirements. Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, safety cases, and safety reports. Participate in safety audits and assessments, both internal and external. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on functional safety matters. Stay updated with the latest advancements in functional safety and autonomous vehicle technologies. ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB SKILLS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field. Master’s preferred.
