Role Definition This position is within Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division providing leadership regarding developing local production and new source introduction for advanced high-pressure fuel systems. You will join a diverse team supporting fuel injector design engineering for new & existing engine applications. This role requires a hands‐on presence and offers experience in testing, detailed design, structural and hydraulic analysis, and supplier resiliency development. Job Responsibilities Assignments are project oriented and incorporate knowledge of current technology as well as an understanding of the entire design and production process. Collaborate with internal & external partners on current and future support needs. Provide technical leadership to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Service and other areas. Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and performance. Research new materials and production processes. Organize, coordinate, and execute the building, testing, and analysis of production samples.



Participate in and support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports. Develop strong product knowledge and a deep understanding of product function and performance characteristics to effectively lead product maintenance initiatives. Develop and document functional requirements and translate them into detailed design and production documents. Participate in buy-build analysis for product components. Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculum. Effective Communications Understanding of effective communication concepts,

and providing superior technical solutions to business problems. Provides effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues. Assumes accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs. Troubleshooting Technical Problems Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product management environment. Level: Extensive Experience Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.



Resolves difficult or high‐impact equipment and systems problems. Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs. Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi‐vendor environment. Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach. Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance‐related problems.
