Role Description The Actuary Intern role at Assurant is a full-time, on-site position based in Mexico City, Mexico. In this role, the intern will assist in performing actuarial analyses, including pricing, reserving, and forecasting for insurance products and services. Day-to-day activities include working with large data sets, supporting the development of statistical models, preparing reports and presentations for senior team members, and helping evaluate risk and financial outcomes.

The intern will collaborate with actuarial,



finance, and insurance teams to support decision-making and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

- Strong Analytical Skills to examine data, identify trends, and support actuarial decision-making.
- Foundational knowledge in Finance to understand financial statements, profitability, and risk metrics.
- Background in Statistics to support modeling, forecasting, and data-driven analysis.
- Interest or coursework in Insurance and Actuarial Science to apply concepts to real-world products and risk assessments.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel; familiarity with R, Python, or similar tools is a plus).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in Mexico City, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Interest in pursuing actuarial exams or professional actuarial credentials is highly beneficial.
