AGOL Worldwide is an international logistics company specializing in air freight, time-critical logistics, global trade, customs coordination, and complex transportation solutions.
We are expanding our Air Cargo operations in Mexico and are looking for an experienced Air Cargo Operations Specialist to take ownership of our Mexico City air cargo desk.
This is a hands-on operational position.
The successful candidate must be capable of independently managing an international air freight shipment from A to Z , including airline coordination, documentation, bookings, shipment execution, tracking, customs coordination, and final file completion.
Initially, this will be a one-person Air Cargo department in Mexico City , with direct operational support from AGOL Worldwide's U.S. Air Cargo team and our international Time Critical Operations team.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing AGOL's air cargo operations in Mexico, including both air exports and air imports .
We are looking for someone who understands the entire operational process — not someone who has only worked in tracking, customer service, documentation, or one specific part of air freight.
You should be comfortable receiving a shipment request and independently determining what needs to happen next, coordinating all parties involved, preparing the required documentation, and managing the shipment through completion.

Key Responsibilities
Air Export Operations
Receive and review air freight shipment requests
Obtain airline schedules, routing options, rates, and space availability
Make and manage airline bookings
Coordinate cargo pickup and delivery to airline terminals or handling facilities
Prepare and review HAWB and MAWB documentation
Work with electronic Air Waybill / e-AWB processes where applicable
Verify shipper, consignee, commodity, dimensions, weight, routing, and handling information
Prepare and review required shipping documentation
Coordinate commercial invoices and packing lists
Coordinate with customs brokers for Mexican export clearance and pedimento requirements
Confirm cargo acceptance with airlines and ground handling agents
Coordinate security, screening, labeling, and cargo handling requirements




Monitor cutoff times and ensure cargo is delivered and accepted before departure
Track flights and shipment milestones through final destination
Manage airline irregularities, rollovers, delays, offloads, and operational exceptions
Send status updates internally and to customers

Air Import Operations
Monitor inbound international air freight shipments
Review pre-alerts and shipment documentation
Verify MAWB / HAWB information
Coordinate with airlines, cargo terminals, ground handlers, customs brokers, and customers
Coordinate Mexican customs clearance requirements
Monitor cargo arrival and availability
Resolve documentation discrepancies or cargo holds
Coordinate cargo release from airline or terminal
Arrange final delivery when required
Track shipments through final delivery and POD
Complete and close operational files

Documentation & Compliance
The candidate must have strong practical knowledge of international air cargo documentation and processes, including:
Master Air Waybills (MAWB)
House Air Waybills (HAWB)
Airline booking documentation
Commercial invoices
Packing lists
Cargo manifests and pre-alert documentation
Export and import shipment files
Mexican customs broker documentation coordination
Cargo labels and handling labels
Special handling instructions
Airline acceptance requirements
IATA air cargo procedures
Dangerous Goods awareness and documentation coordination
Incoterms
International air freight terminology and procedures
You will be expected to carefully review documentation before cargo moves and identify potential operational or compliance problems before they become shipment delays.

Airline & Vendor Coordination
You must be comfortable communicating directly with:
Airlines
Airline cargo departments
Ground handling agents
Airport terminals
Customs brokers
Trucking companies
Warehouses
Overseas agents
Customers
AGOL offices and operations teams internationally
You should know how to follow up aggressively and professionally when cargo, documents, bookings,



or clearances are not moving according to plan.

Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on international air freight operations experience
Strong experience with both air export and air import operations
Proven ability to manage shipments independently from booking through final delivery
Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing MAWB and HAWB documentation
Experience working directly with airlines and cargo terminals
Experience coordinating Mexican customs clearance with customs brokers
Strong understanding of international shipping documentation
Knowledge of IATA air cargo procedures
Understanding of Incoterms
Strong computer and logistics-system skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Language Requirements
Spanish: Fluent / Native
English: Professional working proficiency required
The candidate must be comfortable communicating by email, telephone, and Microsoft Teams with our U.S. operations team, overseas partners, airlines, and international customers in English.

Preferred Qualifications IATA or air cargo training
Dangerous Goods / DGR training or certification
Experience with time-critical or expedited air freight
Experience handling high-value technology, automotive, aerospace, or industrial cargo
Experience working for an international freight forwarder
Experience working with airlines and cargo handlers at AICM and/or AIFA
Existing relationships with airlines, handlers, customs brokers, and trucking providers are a plus

What We Are Looking For We want someone who is operational, resourceful, organized, and independent .
This position is idóneo for an experienced air freight professional who does not need a large department around them to manage a shipment.
You should be the type of person who can receive a new shipment and immediately think:

What airline should we use? What routing makes sense? What documents are required? What is the cutoff? Has the cargo been cleared? Has the airline accepted it? What could delay this shipment, and what do I need to do now to prevent that?
You will have support from our U.S. Air Cargo and Time Critical teams, but you will be expected to become AGOL's air cargo operational expert on the ground in Mexico City.
As our Mexico operation grows, this role may also develop into a larger operational or leadership position.
