Your Role

As a Looker Developer at Capgemini, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise analytics solutions using Looker. You will play a critical role in transforming business reporting capabilities by translating existing BI assets into scalable semantic models and ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance standards.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics teams, Product Owners, and Business Stakeholders to deliver trusted, high-performing, and reusable analytics assets that support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities & Scope

Looker Development & Semantic Modeling

- Develop, maintain, and enhance LookML semantic models to support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
- Create and optimize LookML views, explores, dimensions, and measures to improve usability, scalability, and performance.
- Design reusable business logic and KPI definitions within the Looker semantic layer.
- Ensure data consistency and alignment across reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment of Looker assets and semantic models.

Business Intelligence Modernization

- Analyze and map existing Power BI queries, reports, and business calculations into Looker-based solutions.
- Translate reporting requirements into scalable and maintainable semantic models.
- Support BI modernization and migration initiatives from Power BI and other reporting platforms.
- Validate data accuracy and ensure business requirements are properly reflected in analytical outputs.

Data Governance & Catalog Alignment

- Align semantic models with enterprise Knowledge Catalog data products and governance standards.
- Collaborate with Data Governance and Data Engineering teams to maintain trusted business definitions and metadata.
- Ensure consistency of KPIs, measures, dimensions,



and business terminology across analytics platforms.
- Support metadata management and semantic governance best practices.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
- Partner with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure data models support evolving business needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve model performance, usability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices, standards, and documentation for Looker development.
