In this position...
You will shape how drivers interact with vehicles by leading the end-to-end design, integration, and delivery of advanced transmission shift systems—ranging from tactile mechanical shifters to modern electronic shift-by-wire controls. Serving as the primary technical bridge across styling, human-machine interface (HMI), hardware, software, and general manufacturing,
you will drive product quality, functional safety, and premium driver craftsmanship from initial concept through vehicle launch.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
Lead End-to-End Commodity Delivery: Own the packaging, mechanical/electronic design integration, and technical release of transmission shifting systems throughout the complete product lifecycle.
Define Technical & Ergonomic Specifications: Establish clear functional requirements, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;) stack-ups, tactile sound and feel attributes, and interface guidelines in alignment with HMI and Styling Studio teams.
Drive Systems & Software Integration: Partner with vehicle electrical and network architecture teams to integrate Controller Area Network (CAN) messaging, control modules, wiring schematics, and digital vehicle interfaces.
Ensure Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Lead engineering risk assess
