Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end acoustic, vibro-acoustic, and aero-acoustic simulation efforts (FEA/BEM/SEA, hybrid methods) across multiple concurrent programs.
- Define and own simulation strategy, model fidelity trade-offs, and correlation activities to drive model maturity.
- Build, validate, and continuously refine complex full-system or subsystem-level acoustic models.
- Develop and deploy simulation models to support muffler design.
- Drive correlation between simulation and physical test data, diagnosing discrepancies and improving model accuracy at a methodological level
- Partner with structural, systems, and design engineering lead to embed acoustic considerations into early-stage design.
- Lead root-cause investigations for complex or field-reported acoustic issues, coordinating across simulation and test teams.
- Perform advanced trade-off and optimization studies (topology, materials, damping/absorption treatments, structural modifications).
- Own and evolve simulation best practices, templates,



automation scripts, and internal tools
- Present findings, risk assessments, and recommendations directly to Model-Based Engineering team leaders and project teams.
- Evaluate and pilot new simulation tools, methods, or vendor technologies to keep capabilities current.
- Support supplier/vendor technical reviews when acoustic simulation data is involved.
- Drive and coordinate acoustic test methods to include sound pressure, sound power, transmission loss, and muffler performance tests.
- Drive and coordinate sound source localization test methods to include holography, transfer path analysis (TPA), and 2D/3D sound field visualization.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
- 7 years of experience in acoustic/vibro-acoustic simulation, with a track record of leading simulation work on complex systems
- Deep expertise in FEA, BEM, SEA, and/or hybrid simulation methods
- Advanced proficiency with industry simulation tools (SimCenter 3D, Actran, Wave6, Va One, Ansys, or similar tools)
- Strong proficiency of acoustics fundamentals: modal analysis, transmission loss, structural-acoustic coupling, enclosure design, acoustic materials and sound reduction mechanisms.




- Demonstrated success correlating simulation to test data on both interior and exterior acoustic problems.
- Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar) for model setup, batch processing, and post-processing pipelines
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical results for non-specialist stakeholders and leadership
- Experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with psychoacoustics and sound quality metrics.
- Background in aeroacoustics / CFD-Acoustic coupled noise simulation.
- Experience with machine learning or surrogate modeling techniques applied to acoustic optimization
- Familiarity with statistical energy analysis (SEA) for high-frequency content
- Industry-specific experience (automotive NVH, aerospace cabin/engine noise, consumer electronics, industrial machinery, architectural acoustics)
- Publications, patents, or conference presentations in acoustics/vibro-acoustics.
