Location: 100% Remote in Mexico

Time Zone: North American business hours

Rate: Target approximately $22 USD/hour, with limited flexibility

Target Start Date: By the end of September 2026. Could on-board sooner. Active contract. We have 4 current LATAM consultants in Mexico with this Manager.

Role Summary

Autoliv is seeking a LabVIEW Software Developer to maintain and enhance applications used by its Global Test Community. This position will focus on desktop application support, industrial hardware communication, database connectivity, troubleshooting, and documentation within the UTS environment.

The current applications were developed in LabVIEW after being transitioned from Delphi Pascal. Autoliv is also building a next-generation platform using React and Python, with the longer-term goal of migrating LabVIEW functionality to that platform over the next one to two years. The immediate priority for this role is supporting and maintaining the existing LabVIEW environment.

Responsibilities

- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing LabVIEW applications

- Develop and support software integrations with industrial testing and manufacturing hardware

- Collaborate with the lead LabVIEW developer and broader engineering team to support General Test Community processes

- Debug, test, review, and document code throughout the development lifecycle

- Develop and maintain connectivity between software solutions, local computers, servers, databases, and industrial hardware

- Build an understanding of the overall system architecture to support ongoing maintenance and enhancements





- Ensure solutions follow applicable company, team, and industry standards

- Work with Oracle SQL in the current environment and support the future transition toward Microsoft SQL

- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, integrations, and development changes

- Participate in Agile or Scrum development processes and use established tools for work tracking, source control, and support

Required Qualifications

- Professional experience developing or maintaining applications using LabVIEW

- At least two years of experience in a software development role

- Experience integrating desktop software with hardware or external devices

- Familiarity with software development methodologies and the full development lifecycle

- Experience debugging, testing, reviewing, and documenting code

- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL

- Experience with Microsoft SQL, Oracle SQL, or both

- Experience using Git, GitKraken, or a comparable source-control tool

- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed engineering and development teams

- Ability to work during North American business hours

Nice-to-Haves

- Experience in mechatronics, robotics, manufacturing, industrial testing, or test engineering

- Experience communicating with industrial testing hardware, including VXI or Measurement Computing equipment





- Microsoft SQL experience

- Experience with Jira and ServiceNow

- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies

- Knowledge of Delphi or Delphi Pascal

- Exposure to React or Python

- Experience with ladder logic programming

- Familiarity with National Instruments LabVIEW tools

- Located near Cadereyta, Mexico, or able to collaborate closely with team members in that area

- Ability to travel regionally if required

- Current database environment uses Oracle, with Microsoft SQL planned as the future direction. SQL experience preferred over Oracle.
