Cross-border Procurement Associate is an entry level position focused on training and development in Cross-border Procurement development.
Duties and responsibilities
- Call Cross-border carrier providers to fulfill commitments made to customers - Negotiate rates - Document and communicate offers - Use discretion to book loads - Use discretion to determine when to bring options above the notated Carrier Buy Rates to service our existing clients - Obtain proper paperwork where applicable - Develop and manage carrier portfolio of "owned cross-border carriers" - Absorb and apply material learned in training - Get accustomed to both internal and external TMS platforms - Provide load coverage assistance for harder to cover lanes - Generate carrier capacity for cross-border targeted lanes from BG's internally built database, as well as other outside sources the Cross-border Procurement Associate has access to.
- High volume lanes - Customer commitments and future opportunities - Problem lanes - Niche markets - Hit target KPI's for call volumes, carrier files updated, loads booked - Develop entry level cross-border freight broker sales and negotiation skills - Follow proper carrier qualification (ORCA) and onboarding processes (RMIS) - Build a sales portfolio from carrier cold calls - Assist in developing and updating cross-border pricing - Integrate carriers with tracking and booking automation platforms - Communicate late deliveries and issue resolution when necessary
