This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Medical & Scientific Affairs - Metabolic Disease Imaging based in Mexico.

This strategic leadership role provides scientific and clinical imaging expertise across business development, clinical trial delivery, and innovation initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to sponsors and internal stakeholders, shaping imaging strategies and supporting the design and execution of clinical studies. A key focus will be metabolic disease programs spanning MASH, obesity, diabetes, and related indications.

You will help advance imaging biomarkers, quantitative imaging methods, and endpoint strategies that support treatment development and clinical outcomes. The role combines scientific leadership, client engagement, thought leadership, and collaboration with global cross-functional teams. You will also help strengthen imaging capabilities through innovation, training, technology development, and scientific partnerships.

Accountabilities: The role provides scientific leadership across the imaging components of clinical research programs, while supporting client relationships, business development, innovation, and internal capability building. Key responsibilities include:

- Provide medical and scientific imaging expertise to commercial development, operations, and project teams throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted scientific advisor to sponsors, supporting study design, protocol review, imaging endpoint strategy, and solution development.
- Lead scientific strategy for imaging components of clinical trials focused on MASH, obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic diseases.
- Advise on imaging biomarkers, quantitative imaging methods, advanced technologies, and emerging approaches relevant to metabolic disease research.
- Provide scientific oversight of imaging charters, image review manuals, site-facing materials, sponsor deliverables, and study reports.
- Ensure imaging methodologies, endpoints, and operational approaches align with study objectives, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
- Advance imaging methodologies and endpoint strategies for assessing metabolic disease progression, treatment response, and clinical outcomes.
- Support business development through client meetings, capabilities presentations, RFPs, RFIs, proposal development, and bid defense activities.




- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and key stakeholders throughout the sales and clinical study execution process.
- Represent the organization at scientific conferences, industry forums, and working groups through presentations, publications, and imaging standardization initiatives.
- Partner with marketing and commercial teams to communicate scientific differentiators and contribute to thought leadership activities.
- Provide scientific training, mentorship, and consultation to internal teams to strengthen organizational imaging expertise.
- Collaborate with product development and technology teams to define scientific requirements and enhance innovative imaging solutions and software platforms.
- Monitor emerging scientific, clinical, and regulatory developments affecting metabolic diseases and their imaging applications.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required, approximately 10%.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings advanced scientific expertise in quantitative imaging, clinical research, and metabolic disease, combined with strong strategic and client-facing capabilities. You should be comfortable translating complex scientific concepts into practical solutions and influencing decisions across global, multidisciplinary teams. Key qualifications include:

- PhD required in a relevant scientific or technical discipline, preferably biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, medical physics, physics, imaging sciences, or a closely related quantitative imaging field.
- Significant experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or clinical research industry supporting imaging components of clinical trials.
- Direct experience with imaging studies and imaging biomarkers in MASH, obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic disease indications.
- Deep understanding of imaging biomarker development, quantitative image analysis, imaging endpoint strategy, and clinical trial design.
- Experience applying advanced imaging technologies, image analysis methodologies, and emerging imaging techniques to metabolic disease research.
- Strong expertise in imaging modalities used in metabolic disease clinical trials, including methods for assessing liver fat, fibrosis, body composition, and related metabolic endpoints.




- Experience supporting business development activities, including client engagement, scientific consultation, proposal development, and bid defense meetings.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across general and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent scientific communication and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, practical, client-focused solutions.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to quality, innovation, and delivering a high-quality client experience.
- US location strongly preferred; candidates based in Mexico City, Mexico, Ireland, or the UK may also be considered.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%.
