As an Engineer II, Electromechanical Design, you will develop and optimize electromechanical products, subsystems, and platforms for low-voltage electrical distribution equipment. You will apply mechanical and electrical engineering principles to design innovative, reliable, and manufacturable solutions that meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.

You will contribute to the design and development of Power Panelboards, Panelboards, Switchboards, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), busbar systems, enclosures, and related power distribution equipment, supporting the complete product lifecycle from concept development through industrialization and product release.

This role requires a strong understanding of low-voltage power distribution systems, current-carrying components, electrical protection, power conversion, motor control applications, electrical safety, and regulatory compliance. You will leverage simulation, analysis, prototyping, testing, and validation tools to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and competitiveness.

What will you do?

Product Design & Development

- Develop electromechanical designs for low-voltage electrical distribution products, platforms, features, options, and subsystems.
- Translate customer, technical, regulatory, and business requirements into robust engineering solutions.
- Participate in concept development, feasibility analysis, prototyping, design validation, industrialization, and product release activities.
- Develop scalable and standardized architectures supporting multiple product families and market segments.

Electrical Power Distribution Design

- Design and optimize low-voltage electrical distribution equipment including:
- Power Panelboards
- Panelboards
- Switchboards
- Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Distribution Boards
- Industrial Control Panels
- Design and optimize current-carrying systems including busbars, conductors, terminations, grounding systems, and electrical interconnections.
- Evaluate electrical performance including current ratings, temperature rise, short-circuit withstand capability, fault current management, voltage drop, and power distribution efficiency.
- Support development of electrical architectures that maximize safety, reliability, maintainability, and installation efficiency.
- Support the integration of power conversion technologies within low-voltage distribution systems.
- Contribute to the specification and integration of:
- Power supplies
- Protection devices
- AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems
- Evaluate power quality, thermal performance, load profiles, protection coordination, and system reliability requirements.

Engineering Analysis & Validation

- Apply CAD tools, thermal analysis, tolerance analysis, modeling, simulation, and prototype testing to improve product performance and manufacturability.
- Verify compliance with electrical safety, mechanical integrity, thermal performance, and short-circuit requirements.
- Support verification and validation plans, prototype evaluations, issue resolution, and design improvements.
- Collaborate with test laboratories and certification teams during product qualification and compliance activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with manufacturing, quality, procurement, supply chain, offer management, certification, and project management teams.
- Drive design-to-cost, value engineering, and product optimization initiatives.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for technical and quality-related issues.
- Document technical requirements, design decisions, validation results, and lessons learned.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Physics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
- Advanced degrees are desirable.
- Experience in new product development for low-voltage electrical distribution equipment is desired.
- Experience designing current-carrying systems and electrical power distribution architectures.
- Strong CAD experience and ability to manage medium to complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Low-voltage power distribution systems and equipment.
- Electrical protection systems including circuit breakers, fuses, overload relays, and protective devices.
- Busbar system design, conductor sizing, electrical connections, grounding, bonding, and fault current management.
- Motor control applications including motor starters, contactors, overload protection, soft starters, and variable frequency drives.
- Power conversion technologies including AC/DC, DC/DC, and auxiliary power systems.
- Electrical clearances, creepage requirements, insulation coordination, dielectric performance, and electrical safety principles.
- Thermal management of current-carrying systems and electrical equipment.
- Short-circuit withstand requirements, fault current analysis, and protection coordination principles.
- Design-for-manufacturing, modular architecture, standardization, and value engineering methodologies.
- Familiarity with UL,



IEC, CSA, NEMA, and applicable industry standards governing low-voltage electrical equipment.
