Personal Injury Legal Assistant

Department: Production

Reports to: Firm administrator and Case Manager.

Purpose: Provide administrative support to the case manager in pre-litigation matters involving car accident injury claims.

Key Responsibilities

Set up new files

Investigation

- Opening Claims.
- Sending LOR’s to Insurance Company.
- Requesting Police Reports.
- Performing Conflict Check.
- Emailing and mailing client documents.
- Withdrawals or Discharge Letters.

Medical
- Getting Account total charges and balances from Providers.
- Uploading and labeling documents.
- Letter of representation (LORs) to providers: Health Ins./PIP/ L&I;, etc.
- Letters of Protection to providers.
- Subrogation - Set Up and follow ups for Liens and ledgers.
- Follow up with providers regarding billing and balances.
- Insurance Declarations Page and waivers.

- Proficiency in office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, as well as case management software.
