As a HOMOLOGATION AND REGULATORY ANALYST in the AUTOMOTIVE industrie you will lead and fully own the homologation strategy and execution for new and existing vehicle models across Mexico markets, ensuring full compliance with regional regulatory frameworks, including safety, emissions (CO2 compliance), and environmental standards.
Responsible for the end-to-end homologation process, from regulatory analysis and documentation submission to certification approval and ongoing compliance management.
Activities
- Serve as the company’s primary liaison with regulatory authorities, leading follow-up activities to secure all required regulatory and compliance certificates in due time and proper form.
- Oversee product configuration to achieve fulfillment in safety standards for the region.
- Assume the ownership of the homologation process, ensuring accountability from regulatory analysis and documentation to final certification approval and ongoing compliance management.
- Monitor and analyze updates in automotive legislation across Latin America and Mexico; proactively advise internal stakeholders on regulatory impacts and required adaptations.
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as UN/ECE regulations and country-specific homologation requirements.
- Provide technical expertise on vehicle systems related to safety and emissions standards.
- Support strategic planning by identifying regulatory risks and future compliance trends.
Requirements
- Prior experience in homologation, certification, or regulatory compliance within the automotive sector.
- Solid knowledge of international automotive regulations and standards (e.g., safety regulations, emissions, electrical/electronic systems, connectivity).
- Analytical skills to interpret technical and legal requirements, prepare clear documentation, and manage regulatory filings with relevant authorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and product teams, managing homologation projects in an organized, autonomous, and detail-oriented manner.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken) for communicating with international clients, testing laboratories, and certification bodies.
- Engineering background (automotive, mechanical, electrical, electronic, or similar) or demonstrable equivalent experience in a technical-regulatory environment.
- Proficiency in office software and project management tools
