Cover Desk Mexico provides highly skilled virtual assistants who support independent insurance agencies throughout the United States. Our Mexico team is based in the Monterrey metropolitan area, with employees working remotely from their homes.

We are looking for a dependable IT Support Contractor in Monterrey to assist with the delivery, installation, and setup of company computer equipment for new employees.

About the Role

This is an independent contractor, part-time/as-needed position and is ideal for an IT professional looking for supplemental work.

The primary responsibility is to transport company-provided computer equipment to new employees' homes throughout the Monterrey metropolitan area and complete their workstation setup during the work week between Monday - Saturday.

The number of hours will vary based on Cover Desk Mexico's hiring needs. Typically, we onboard approximately 1–3 new employees per week who require computer setup, although volume may increase or decrease.

Because our employees work from home, this position requires local travel throughout the Monterrey area at your own expense.

Candidates must have their own reliable vehicle and be willing to use it to transport computer equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Pick up and safely transport company IT equipment to new employees' homes.
- Set up laptops/desktops, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, headsets, and other required peripherals.
- Connect and configure equipment for the employee's home workstation.
- Verify internet connectivity and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting during installation.
- Coordinate remotely with Cover Desk's IT team in the Philippines to complete required configurations,



testing, and troubleshooting.
- Communicate setup status, technical issues, and completion details to the appropriate Cover Desk team members.
- Assist with equipment exchanges, troubleshooting visits, or equipment retrieval when needed.
- Handle company equipment carefully and maintain accountability and inventory for equipment while it is in your possession.
- Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with Cover Desk employees in their homes.

Qualifications

- Previous professional experience in IT support, Help Desk, desktop support, computer repair, technical support, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience setting up and troubleshooting Windows-based laptops and desktop computers.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, Wi-Fi/internet connectivity, and basic software configuration.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common computer and connectivity issues.
- Comfortable following technical instructions provided remotely by another IT team.
- Professional English communication skills are required, as the contractor will regularly communicate with our Philippines-based IT team and U.S. leadership.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Must live in the Monterrey metropolitan area.
- Must own a reliable vehicle and be able to transport computer equipment to employees' homes.




- Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable traveling throughout the Monterrey metropolitan area.
- Availability to complete installations based on new-hire schedules.

Schedule & Hours This is not a full-time position. Work is scheduled based on new-hire onboarding and other IT support needs. Typical workload involves approximately 1–3 new-hire computer setups per week. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on hiring volume. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible to coordinate equipment setup appointments.

Compensation

Independent Contractor

MXN $255 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Ideal Candidate

This opportunity may be a great fit for an experienced IT professional who already has a primary job, freelance IT business, or flexible schedule and is looking for supplemental IT work in the Monterrey area, but will be available during the work week.

The idóneo contractor is technically capable, dependable, comfortable driving to employees' homes, and able to work collaboratively with a remote international IT team.
