Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Field Network Engineer / IT Field Technician to provide onsite network installation, configuration support, and end-user IT assistance. The engineer will work onsite at customer locations to install and support network infrastructure and provide hands-on assistance to remote technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, rack, mount, and replace network devices such as:
- Routers
- Network switches
- Wireless access points
- Firewalls
- Other IT/network infrastructure equipment
- Perform basic network device installation, cabling, patching, labeling, and physical connectivity.
- Provide console access to the remote network team using a laptop and appropriate console cables to allow remote configuration and troubleshooting.
- Assist remote engineers during network device configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and replacement as required.
- Provide desktop support and end-user assistance, including troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and peripheral issues.
- Support laptop imaging, deployment, and replacement activities.
- Follow customer and project-specific installation procedures and safety requirements.




- Document completed work, including device information, cabling details, work performed, and any issues encountered.
- Provide completion updates, photos, and customer sign-off/POD documentation as required.
- Coordinate with the remote support team and customer representatives to ensure successful completion of onsite activities.

Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in network installation, field support, or IT infrastructure support.
- Basic knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience with network cabling, patching, labeling, and hardware installation.
- Familiarity with console access and tools such as PuTTY or similar terminal-emulation software.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
- Experience providing desktop and end-user support.
- Ability to perform laptop imaging and hardware deployment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with remote technical teams.
- Ability to work independently at customer locations.

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $680.00 - $850.00 per hour
