The Regional Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with regional customer accounts and independent pharmacies across Mexico. This role drives profitable and sustainable sales growth by developing commercial strategies, increasing product awareness and rotation, and maximizing Bayer value through customer-focused negotiations and Joint Business Plans.
The position manages a designated portfolio of regional accounts, identifies new business opportunities, creates demand for Bayer products and services, and ensures effective execution of commercial, trade marketing, and sales strategies at the point of sale. The role works closely with internal cross-functional teams and customer senior stakeholders to deliver revenue objectives, strengthen customer partnerships, and ensure compliance with Bayer commercial policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of regional customer accounts across Mexico, including independent pharmacies that contribute to sell-through performance for wholesalers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customer decision-makers, influencers, and senior stakeholders.
- Achieve sales objectives for the assigned customer portfolio by developing and executing sustainable growth strategies.
- Design and implement innovative commercial plans to increase product awareness, distribution, rotation, and customer demand.
- Develop and execute mid- and long-term commercial negotiations in alignment with Bayer’s Commercial Policy, maximizing value for both Bayer and customers.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Joint Business Plans with customers in close collaboration with Trade Marketing and Commercial Strategy teams.
- Ensure effective execution of agreed commercial activities, promotions, events, and investment plans at the point-of-sale level.
- Act as a commercial advisor to Bayer internal business units by recommending customer-specific offers, activities, and events based on customer needs and market context.
- Monitor and analyze customer and product performance indicators, including Sell In, Sell Out, inventory levels, distribution, market demand, and competitor activity.
- Use data and market insights to identify opportunities,
address performance gaps, and implement timely commercial strategies.
- Evaluate Return on Investment and Gross-to-Net performance to determine the most effective strategies for profitable and sustainable product growth.
- Collaborate with Finance, Commercial Strategy, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Product Management, and other business units to ensure appropriate investment decisions and commercial execution.
- Manage the Order-to-Cash process for direct accounts in collaboration with Bayer’s invoicing and logistics teams.
- Follow up on sales orders, invoice issuance, product delivery, and on-time customer payment.
- Maintain healthy customer accounts by monitoring rebates, accruals, credit notes, overdue balances, and payment status.
- Ensure all commercial activities and customer agreements comply with Bayer’s legal, compliance, and commercial policy requirements.
- Conduct regular business reviews, status meetings, and strategic discussions with customers to understand their needs and align Bayer’s product and service strategies accordingly.
- Drive a customer-centric, collaborative, and performance-oriented culture across internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roles, sales, key account management, marketing, trade marketing, commercial strategy, or customer relationship management.
- Intermediate English proficiency.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong understanding of commercial operations, customer management, and sales processes.
- Experience managing customer portfolios, commercial negotiations, and business plans.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, market, customer, and financial data.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
