Short Description

We are seeking an experienced Cargo Operator with a background in FPSOs, Crude Oil Tankers and offshore cargo operations , including loading, offloading and crude oil transfer activities.

Function Description

Reporting to the Cargo Supervisor, the Cargo Operator is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient execution of marine and cargo operations onboard the FPSO. The position involves preparation, monitoring and shutdown of cargo operations, maintenance of cargo systems, pump room activities and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, start up, monitor and shut down marine and cargo operations.
- Support crude oil loading, offloading and transfer operations in accordance with operating procedures.
- Operate, isolate, maintain and reinstate pump room and cargo systems.
- Participate in tank entry, inspection and maintenance activities under approved Permit to Work systems.
- Monitor cargo equipment, cargo tanks and associated utility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain compliance with environmental policies and pollution prevention requirements.
- Conduct safety checks, gas testing and isolation verification activities as required.
- Support emergency response activities and actively participate in drills and exercises.
- Communicate effectively with the Cargo Control Room (CCR) and offshore operations team.





Requirements Mandatory Requirements:

- Valid STCW Reg. A-II/4 Certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as Pumpman or Cargo Operator onboard Oil Tankers.
- Previous experience in crude oil cargo operations, pump room activities and cargo system maintenance.
- Experience onboard Crude Oil Tankers, FPSOs or offshore production units.
- Knowledge of Permit to Work systems, mechanical isolations, risk assessments and safety procedures.
- Experience with cargo transfer systems, pumps, valves and tank operations.
- Medically fit for offshore assignments (ENG1 or equivalent).
- Good spoken English communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

- Previous FPSO, FSO or offshore production experience.
- VLCC, Suezmax or Aframax tanker experience.
- Experience with crude oil export operations.
- Knowledge of cargo control systems and CCR operations.
- Experience with tank inspections and maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with pollution prevention and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience participating in emergency response teams and offshore safety drills.
- Understanding of gas testing, isolation procedures and confined space entry activities.
