Role Summary The QHSE Advisor is responsible for ensuring that the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures are effectively implemented and maintained within an office environment, supporting offshore drilling operations. The role involves compliance monitoring, risk assessment, training coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety culture and environmental sustainability. The QHSE Advisor can be allocated to offshore support duties as dictated by operations and Director of QHSE.

Job Specific Responsibilities

Quality, Health & Safety Responsibilities:

- Implement and maintain QHSE policies, procedures, and management systems in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Develop an agenda for action items with the Rig Manager prior to departure offshore and review results with Rig Manager after visit.
- Coordinate with QHSE Supervisor any QHSE mandates for work offshore on the specific unit that will be working with.
- Conduct facility surveys, ISM audits and work in progress to ensure continuous improvement in the health and safety programs.
- Effectively use and support all Safety Management programs employed by the organization.
- Review rig specific procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Audit, identify and communicate best practices, lessons learned, safety and environment alert with operations and the company fleet.
- Ensure implementation of findings and results are communicated with management for appropriate action.
- Coach, observe and mentor the safety officers onboard each unit in the company and risk assessment processes.




- Conduct risk assessments and support hazard identification processes for offshore drilling operations.
- Monitor and report on compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, providing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response coordination.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits by regulatory bodies, clients, and certification agencies.
- Ensure proper documentation of safety procedures, work permits, and incident reports.
- Organize QHSE training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.

Environmental Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess the environmental impact of offshore drilling activities, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and standards.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans, spill response strategies, and waste management programs.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments, including emissions, discharges, and hazardous materials management.
- Ensure compliance with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL),



Oslo and Paris Conventions for the Protection of Marine Environment (OSPAR), and other environmental regulations applicable to offshore operations.
- Collect and analyze environmental performance data, preparing reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance on pollution prevention, sustainability initiatives, and resource conservation.
- Support offshore teams in managing environmental incidents, including spill response coordination and reporting.

Qualifications Preferably a bachelor's degree: Environmental Engineering or QHSE Degree, or any equivalent field.

Years of experience: 5 years’ experience in QHSE or operations (Offshore supervisory level experience required).

Certificates in ISM/ISPS and ISO environmental training preferred.

Must possess expertise and knowledge of how to coach people in the proper planning of work with the identification of risks and unsafe hazards.

Skills/abilities : Proficient in verbal and written English language skills and able to effectively communicate with all crew members.

Self-starter with proven problem-solving ability.

Team oriented and capable of influencing the behavior of others.

Strong observational, analytical and presentation skills.

Ability to travel to several locations and work unsupervised in remote locations.
