QUALITY MANAGER
Industrial company specialized in stamping processes and manufacturing of metal components is seeking a Quality Manager to lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions.
The position will be responsible for ensuring product and process quality, strengthening the Quality Management System (QMS), and developing a culture of prevention and continuous improvement.
PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a hands-on Quality leader with a strong shop-floor presence, capable of working directly with Production to identify, contain, and eliminate the root causes of quality issues.
The adecuado candidate will combine strong technical quality knowledge, industrial manufacturing experience, and leadership capabilities, ensuring that the Quality function goes beyond product inspection and documentation management.
The candidate must have proven experience managing internal and customer rejections, leading root cause analysis, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring effective closure of corrective actions.
The objective is to develop more robust processes, reduce variation, prevent defects, and ensure that our products consistently meet customer specifications and expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop the Quality team.
- Ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Oversee quality control of raw materials, in-process operations, and finished products.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, tolerances, and acceptance criteria.
- Establish and maintain quality control and inspection plans.
- Manage internal and customer quality rejections,
ensuring immediate containment, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and effective closure.
- Lead customer complaint management and 8D reports, ensuring timely responses and follow-up through verification of corrective action effectiveness.
- Analyze and resolve quality issues using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate nonconforming product management, including identification, segregation, disposition, and follow-up.
- Coordinate internal, external, and customer audits.
- Manage quality performance indicators and establish improvement objectives.
- Monitor PPM, scrap, rework, rejections, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), establishing actions for reduction.
- Ensure the calibration and reliability of measurement and inspection equipment.
- Participate in new projects, process changes, and product releases.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Purchasing teams.
- Coordinate supplier quality activities and follow up on raw material quality issues.
- Ensure the proper execution of quality controls across both shifts.
- Promote a culture of quality, discipline, prevention, and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality roles within industrial/manufacturing companies.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading Quality teams.
- Experience in stamping, metal forming, metalworking, or sheet metal manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Experience conducting and managing internal, external, and customer audits.
- Lead Auditor certification or proven Lead Auditor experience, preferably in ISO 9001/IATF 16949.
- Proven experience managing internal and customer quality rejections.
- Experience with 8D problem-solving and customer complaint management.
- Strong knowledge of problem-solving methodologies: 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto, A3, and CAPA.
- Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, and MSA.
- Knowledge of dimensional metrology, engineering drawings, and tolerances.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and process capability is desirable.
- Experience managing quality performance indicators.
- Proven people management and team leadership experience.
- Advanced English is mandatory.
- Availability to work and support an industrial operation across both shifts.
