The Mexico Tactical Trade Leader sits between compliance and plant operations. This position overseas the customs clerks and manages day-to-day execution across all 3 maquiladoras. This position serves as a first escalation point for operations and customs brokers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Supervise customs personnel at 3 Mexico plants
- Create uniform and efficient processes across the 3 plants
- Pedimento accuracy
- Import and Export Documentation flow and accuracy
- Shipment resolution
- Coordination of capital equipment inventory
- Coordination of temporary and permanent import and export operations
- Facilitate scrap reporting
- Annual US Customs Reconciliation
- Receive certificates of origin and mill certificates for raw materials, machinery and equipment for the application of tax benefits




- Assist in assignment of tariff classification of materials and equipment to be imported
- Updating IMMEX software with required information for new items
- Coordinate and consult with compliance team in US and Canada

Knowledge / Skill / Abilities

- Proficient management of the IMMEX customs software
- Strong working knowledge of Mexican foreign trade regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions with high attention to detail.

Qualifications / Prior Experience

- Minimum of 3 years of experience within the maquiladora industry in customs.
- 85% English
- Associates or bachelors degree preferred

Work Environment / Other Requirements

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- 20% travel
