A Mainframe Development Consultant in COBOL understands the technical landscape of IT projects, comprehends the business context and goals, and uses their experience to develop optimal solutions, including technology and design choices.



They support the project manager in planning software delivery, articulate the vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and work directly with customers to define solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee activities of mid Application Developers, as applicable and provide individuals with constructive feedback as it pertains to team performance.
- Participate in the design, coding, testing.
- Assist clients in business/technical specification gathering when requested.
- Develop detailed analysis/design documents for several enhancement projects.
- Solve Online and Batch Abends.
- Support the system testing and client integration testing efforts as required.
- Develop Pseudo Code for the mid and junior Developers.

Qualifications:
- Strong technical background and proficiency in IBM COBOL
- Experience with JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technic
