AWS Cloud & DevOps Advisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud & DevOps Advisor to join our team and play a key role in designing, implementing, automating, and supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms. The adecuado candidate will bring a strong combination of AWS cloud engineering, DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), automation, and production support experience.
This role requires a hands-on technical professional who can collaborate across development, operations, and support teams to improve platform reliability, operational efficiency, and service availability. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in mission-critical environments, participating in on-call rotations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across cloud infrastructure and application platforms.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Cloud Engineering
- Design, implement, and support scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud solutions.
- Architect and optimize enterprise cloud environments following AWS best practices.
- Manage and maintain AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Evaluate cloud architectures and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost optimization.
DevOps & CI/CD
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application delivery and infrastructure deployments.
- Support DevOps initiatives that improve release velocity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams to automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Implement DevSecOps practices and promote automation across the software development lifecycle.
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Create reusable Terraform modules and deployment frameworks.
- Manage cloud resources through version-controlled infrastructure code.
- Ensure infrastructure consistency, compliance, and scalability through automation.
Automation & Platform Engineering
- Develop automation solutions to improve cloud operations and reduce manual effort.
- Create and maintain scripts for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, reporting, and operational tasks.
- Drive platform engineering initiatives focused on reliability, standardization, and operational excellence.
- Continuously improve operational processes through intelligent automation.
Production Support & Operations
- Provide advanced application and platform production support for cloud-hosted environments.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application, and connectivity issues.
- Lead incident resolution efforts and perform root cause analysis for critical production events.
- Support problem management and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Monitor platform performance and proactively address reliability concerns.
On-Call Support
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations supporting business-critical production systems.
- Respond to operational incidents within established SLAs.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams during high-priority incidents and service restoration activities.
- Contribute to operational readiness and disaster recovery planning.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with development, operations, architecture, and support teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Support cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.
- Promote best practices for cloud operations, automation, monitoring, and service management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and production support.
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience designing and supporting enterprise cloud environments.
- Strong experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Experience developing automation and scripting solutions using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
- Strong background in production support, incident management, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Experience participating in 24x7 on-call support rotations.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, monitoring, logging, and operational best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certifications such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- Experience with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, or Dynatrace.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications in cloud environments.
