About the Position: We are looking for a Head of Quality to join the Electronics team, reporting directly to the Quality Director.

This position is based at our office in Aguascalientes.

As the Head of Quality at Marelli, you will be responsible for driving quality strategy, compliance, and continuous improvement across North America an Mexico Operations. Overseeing quality systems, audits, regulatory/customer requirements, supplier or manufacturing quality, issue resolution, and performance metrics. It partners with operations, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams to reduce defects, improve process capability, ensure standardization, and protect customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities will be: A. Regional Quality Leadership

Define and execute the quality strategy for Mexico and North America in alignment with global electronics division objectives.

Lead quality teams across multiple sites, business units, and customer programs.

Establish common quality standards, processes, tools, and governance across the region.

Promote a proactive quality culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Serve as the senior quality representative for regional leadership, customer escalations, and major quality reviews.

B. Manufacturing Quality

Ensure robust quality control and assurance processes across electronics manufacturing operations.

Drive reduction of scrap, rework, defects, escapes, and warranty claims.

Oversee process capability, first-pass yield, final inspection, audit readiness, and product release quality.

Ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using structured methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, DMAIC, and FMEA.

Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve process stability, manufacturability, and product quality.

Act as the senior escalation point for customer quality issues across Mexico and North America.

Ensure timely and effective response to customer complaints, claims, scorecards, and audits.

Build strong customer relationships through transparency, responsiveness, and demonstrated improvement.

Monitor customer quality performance indicators including PPM, returns, complaints, concessions, and field failures.

Lead recovery plans for underperforming accounts or critical customer escalations.

Supplier Quality

Oversee supplier quality performance across the regional electronics supply base.

Ensure effective supplier qualification, audits, performance monitoring, and corrective action processes.

Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain to manage high-risk suppliers and improve incoming material quality.

Support supplier development initiatives to improve capability, consistency, and delivery of conforming products.

Drive reduction of supplier-related defects, disruptions, and cost of poor quality.

E. Quality Management Systems and Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.

Maintain and improve Quality Management Systems across the region.

Support certifications and compliance requirements such as:

ISO 9001

IATF 16949, if automotive electronics are involved

ISO 13485, if medical electronics are involved

AS9100, if aerospace electronics are involved

IPC standards, where applicable

ESD control standards

RoHS, REACH, and other electronics compliance requirements

Lead internal and external audit readiness and ensure closure of findings.

F. Product and Process Quality Planning

Ensure quality involvement in new product introduction, product transfers, engineering changes, and launch readiness.

Oversee APQP, PPAP, control plans, FMEA, validation plans, risk assessments, and production readiness reviews where applicable.

Partner with Engineering and Program Management to identify and mitigate quality risks before production release.

Ensure robust change management and quality gate processes.

G. Continuous Improvement and Cost of Poor Quality

Lead initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality across the region.

Identify trends and systemic issues using quality data analytics.

Drive improvement projects focused on yield, defect reduction, warranty reduction, process capability, and customer satisfaction.

Promote Lean, Six Sigma, problem-solving, and standardized work practices.

Benchmark regional performance against global sites and external best practices.

What Qualifications you will bring: Required

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or Quality Management.
- Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt.
- Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Manager, or equivalent certification.
- Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, AS9100, or relevant standards.
- IPC certification or knowledge, depending on business requirements.

- Standardizing corrective action, audit, and quality reporting processes.
- Developing a strong regional quality leadership team.
- Launching high-impact continuous improvement projects.
- Improving supplier quality and reducing supplier-driven disruptions.
