Account Manager (Sales Executive)
Location: Palmas, Mexico City.
Engagement Type: Self-Employed Professional Services Agreement
Work Location: Office-Based (with travel for client meetings and business requirements)
Schedule: Full-time, 6 days per week
Monthly Professional Services Fee: MXN $23,000 inclusive of taxes
Performance Bonus: Commission and discretionary performance-based bonuses
About the Role
We are a growing technology startup preparing for launch and are looking for motivated and ambitious Account Managers to join our team.
This role is adecuado for someone who enjoys building long-term business relationships, developing new business opportunities, and helping clients implement innovative technology solutions that improve their operations.
You will be responsible for:
- Identifying prospective clients.
- Managing the sales process from initial contact through to onboarding.
- Developing strong relationships with businesses.
- Helping clients implement innovative technology solutions.
- Working closely with the CEO and operational teams to ensure clients receive an exceptional experience before, during, and after implementation.
This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced startup environment where initiative, professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication skills are essential.
The position is offered on a self-employed professional services basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own tax affairs and complying with all applicable legal and tax obligations arising from their professional activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across Mexico.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, outbound prospecting, and business development activities.
- Conduct professional product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from initial enquiry through to contract completion.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
- Understand client requirements and recommend tailored solutions.
- Negotiate commercial agreements within company guidelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and implementation.
- Support operations and marketing teams where applicable
- Maintain accurate records within the company's CRM and sales systems.
- Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets.
- Attend client meetings, networking events, conferences, and exhibitions as required.
- Travel throughout Mexico for client meetings, business development activities, and other business requirements as agreed with the CEO or Senior Management Team. Business travel may occasionally require overnight stays.
- Represent the company professionally and maintain the highest standards of customer service.
- Provide regular sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting reports to senior management.
- Maintain confidentiality of all commercially sensitive information, client data, and company intellectual property.
- Take responsibility for the professional delivery of agreed services and the achievement of agreed commercial objectives.
Requirements
- Fluent in both Spanish and English (written and spoken) – required.
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Management, or a related field preferred.
- OR previous experience in sales, account management, business development, or client relationship management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Confident using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital business tools.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, professionalism, and a client-first approach in all interactions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling commercially sensitive information.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, business development activities, and other business requirements, including occasional overnight stays.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience selling SaaS, technology solutions, software, or digital services.
- Previous experience in B2B sales or account management.
- Experience selling to accountants.
- Experience working within a startup or high-growth company.
- Existing network of business contacts in Mexico.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, SharePoint, or similar.

Compensation
- Monthly professional services fee: MXN $23,000 inclusive of taxes.
- The MXN $23,000 is the total monthly amount payable for the agreed professional services and is not a net amount to which taxes are added.
- Uncapped commission structure.
- Discretionary quarterly performance bonuses awarded at the discretion of the CEO and Senior Management Team.
- The monthly professional services fee is inclusive of any applicable taxes, contributions, or other obligations for which the self-employed professional is responsible under applicable law.
- The self-employed professional is responsible for issuing any required invoices and managing their own tax affairs and legal obligations.
- No employment salary, employer-paid statutory deductions, or employment benefits are included in this professional services arrangement.
- Any future employment arrangement would be subject to a separate agreement and the applicable legal requirements at that time.

This position is offered as a self-employed professional services engagement and is not intended to create an employment relationship. The successful candidate will provide services under the terms of a separate professional services agreement.
The agreement will set out:
- The scope of services.
- The monthly professional services fee.
- Commission arrangements.
- Confidentiality obligations.
- Intellectual property protections.
- Other applicable terms.
The company reserves the right to review the engagement structure as the business develops, including the possibility of offering an employment arrangement in the future, subject to mutual agreement and applicable legal requirements.
