The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting and finance operations of the organization, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial controls. This role oversees treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial planning and analysis, audits, and statutory reporting, while serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership in business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Closing
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in compliance with IFRS and Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF).
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Conduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts to support business and financial decisions.
- Manage trial balance reviews and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting functions.
- Supervise account reconciliations, including bank accounts, revenue, accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, accounts payable, payroll, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of fixed assets, depreciation, amortization, leases (IFRS 16), and financing activities.
Budgeting & Cash Management
- Develop and monitor cash flow projections, operating budgets, and cost control initiatives.
- Support financial planning activities and provide recommendations to optimize profitability and cash management.
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, NIF, SAT, IMSS, Infonavit, VAT (IVA), ISR, and other local regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with tax teams in the review of current and deferred taxes.
- Support transfer pricing studies and intercompany accounting compliance.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
- Serve as the primary contact for audits and reviews conducted by SAT, IMSS, and other government authorities.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance professionals.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across the finance function.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
