A growing automotive manufacturing company located in the Monterrey metropolitan area is seeking an experienced Purchasing & Supplier Development Manager to lead strategic purchasing activities while ensuring the development, qualification, quality, cost competitiveness, and performance of the supplier base.

This position will be responsible for managing the complete supplier lifecycle, from sourcing, commercial negotiation and supplier selection to qualification, development, performance monitoring and continuous improvement, working closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance and Project teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Lead the Purchasing and Supplier Development functions, establishing sourcing and supplier strategies aligned with business objectives.
2. Identify, evaluate, qualify and develop new local and international suppliers based on Quality, Cost, Delivery, Technology and Capacity requirements.
3. Lead commercial negotiations for raw materials, components, packaging, equipment, services and other manufacturing requirements, ensuring competitive pricing and long-term cost stability.
4. Develop and implement cost reduction and localization strategies, identifying opportunities to improve total acquisition cost and reduce supply chain risk.
5. Manage supplier quotation processes, commercial evaluations, contract negotiations and purchasing conditions.
6. Lead supplier audits and assessments covering manufacturing processes, capacity, quality systems and operational performance.
7. Ensure suppliers comply with automotive industry requirements and applicable standards, including IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
8. Coordinate supplier qualification and PPAP activities for new products, engineering changes and new project launches.
9. Monitor and manage supplier performance through KPIs such as PPM, OTD, quality incidents, audit results,



cost performance and corrective actions.
10. Lead supplier corrective action activities, including 8D investigations, SCAR follow-up and verification of corrective actions.
11. Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Project teams during new product launches to ensure supplier readiness from early project stages.
12. Manage critical supplier issues related to quality, delivery, capacity or commercial conditions, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
13. Maintain appropriate inventory and material sourcing strategies to support production requirements and prevent supply disruptions.
14. Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers focused on quality improvement, scrap reduction, productivity, process optimization and cost reduction.
15. Develop strategic supplier relationships and periodically review supplier performance, risk and future business allocation.
16. Manage and develop the Purchasing and Supplier Development team, establishing priorities, KPIs and performance expectations.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development or Supplier Quality, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Previous leadership or management experience.
- Strong experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environments and new product launches is highly desirable.
- The existing Purchasing profile specifically requires more than five years of sourcing experience, a university degree, and advanced English
