Job Summary

We are looking for a Bilingual Healthcare Patient Coordinator Virtual Assistant who is fluent in English and Spanish to support an optometry practice with patient scheduling, insurance verification, patient communication, and healthcare administration.

You will serve as the practice's virtual front desk, handling patient appointments, insurance eligibility and benefits, patient information, follow-ups, and coordination with the clinical team.

The adecuado candidate has experience in healthcare administration, medical reception, patient coordination, or medical scheduling, with knowledge of U.S. healthcare or vision insurance. Experience with Eyefinity Encompass Practice Management (PM) or similar healthcare software is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule,



reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Manage appointment calendars, recalls, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate patient intake and collect required information.
- Schedule appropriate appointments for routine eye exams, contact lens evaluations, dry eye care, glaucoma monitoring, diabetic eye care, and other eye-care services.
- Conduct patient check-in/check-out calls and appointment reminders.

Insurance & Billing Support
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for vision and medical insurance.
- Review plans such as VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, Medicare, and other commercial payers.
- Verify copays, deductibles, coverage, and patient financial responsibility.
- Assist with pre-authorizations when required.
- Clearly communicate verified insurance and expected costs to patients.
- Document insurance information accurately and escalate complex billing concerns.
