Legal Contracts Manager, Procurement Contracting

Johnson Controls is a general leader in the development, manufacture and sale of a wide range of building technologies and solutions, including building management systems, access, video and intrusion security systems, fire detection and suppression systems, air systems, refrigeration and HVAC controls and equipment.

The Legal Contracts Manager will work in close collaboration with the procurement legal team (U.S. based lawyers and contract managers) to support the delivery of legal services to internal clients across the globe.

The Legal Contract Manager’s primary responsibility will be to provide insight and assistance with the intake, triage, work assignment, and analysis of all contracting activities. Additionally, this person will assist and support (i) the review, drafting and negotiation of agreements, including master services agreements, framework agreements, IT agreements, and SaaS agreements.

The right individual will help establish the foundation for JCI’s optimized procurement contracting function,



beginning with managing contract intake and triage, progressing towards playbook driven negotiations, and ultimately leading to a market-leading contracting function supporting JCI across the globe.

The Legal Contracts Manager must possess a “can do” orientation and be willing to develop a deep understanding of procurement and the businesses they support. They must be capable of delivering-on and scaling day-to-day activities including intake, triage, and reporting in addition to supporting contract negotiation activities.

This individual must demonstrate innovative thinking, work independently and proactively, and function as a trusted advisor to the attorneys and business team members they support.
