The Payroll Operations Specialist is responsible for executing accurate and timely payroll processes for employees in Mexico, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.This role manages payroll calculations, monitors deductions, administers payroll-related benefits, and provides analytical support to employees and the business.Additionally, the specialist contributes to project implementations and process improvement initiatives that impact the assigned business units.
**Key Responsibilities**- Ensure 100% accurate and on-time weekly payrolls calculation for the business units assigned, confirming the correct appliance of policies, procedures and data input received from the HR advisors' team.
- Validate and load information from Workday and Time & Attendance inputs into PeopleNet for each payroll cycle.
- Generate and process payroll-related benefits orders (e.g., meal vouchers, grocery vouchers, savings funds), ensuring timely delivery.
- Perform monthly employment subsidy (Subsídio al Empleo) adjustments and validate the results agree with the Mexican Income Tax Law (Ley de ISR).
- Execute special payroll processes such as Christmas bonus, annual managerial bonuses, savings fund closure, profit-sharing (PTU) calculation, and termination payments.
- Provide feedback to local HR teams regarding payment/deduction requests and T&A; submissions.
- Maintain and retain payroll documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
- Provide guidance with employees' inquiries within the established resolution days, through a case management system.
- Research tax laws and regulations related to transactional tax issues and regular operations.
- Identify process gaps, propose improvements, and actively participate in projects implementation.
- Assist with other projects or programs as necessary.
**Position Requirements**- Bachelor's degree accounting, finance or business preferred.
- 2 years of payroll execution experience with payrolls over 500 employees.
- ** Specialized Knowledge**: Mexican Payroll general knowledge.
- ** Skills**:knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficient usage of Microsoft Excel.Desirable experience in Artificial Intelligence appliances.Strong mathematical skills, capable of understanding and creating formulas in Excel.
- Good organizational skills.Proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to communicate mistakes openly and timely, maintaining ownership on the issue resolution and prevention.Capable of working with others in a professional and approachable manner.Maturity to accept changes in overall process, as per the organization needs.
- ** Languages**:Fluent in English.Will have to communicate with JCI teams in US and India.
