- Identify operational and technical training needs for welding processes across the plant
- Design and execute tailored training plans based on operational indicators and shop-floor needs
- Define and manage the welder skills matrix, competency levels, and pay tiers according to technical capabilities
- Prepare and manage documentation and technical evidence required for welding process certifications
- Coordinate and supervise welder test coupons and equipment testing for certification issuance and renewals
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in welding and brazing operations
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to reduce or eliminate internal and external cost of quality
- Perform technical inspections and ensure adherence to international standards and codes
- Identify and implement welding process improvements to increase productivity and product quality while prioritizing workplace safety
- Conduct technical feasibility and engineering studies for product enhancements
- Identify, document, and justify VAVE / Cost Out projects resulting from changes in components, materials, or process parameters
- Collaborate with integral cross-functional engineering teams to drive process standardization and share best practices across international sites
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgy, Chemical, Electrical, or related field)
- Conversational / Fluent English required for daily collaboration with global engineering teams and international manufacturing sites
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Welding & Brazing Specialist or Engineer
- Experience with GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and brazing
- Experience within the manufacturing or metalworking industry
- HVAC industry experience highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in AWS, ASME, ISO, and AISI international codes and standards
- Solid experience in Visual Testing (VT) and Non-Destructive Testing methods (UT, PT, MT, RT)
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) status strongly preferred
