Job Purpose:Cross-border Procurement Associate is an entry level position focused on training and development in Cross-border Procurement development.Duties and responsibilities: Call Cross-border carrier providers to fulfill commitments made to customersNegotiate ratesDocument and communicate offersUse discretion to book loadsUse discretion to determine when to bring options above the notated Carrier Buy Rates to service our existing clientsObtain proper paperwork where applicableDevelop and manage carrier portfolio of "owned cross-border carriers"Absorb and apply material learned in trainingGet accustomed to both internal and external TMS platformsProvide load coverage assistance for harder to cover lanesGenerate carrier capacity for cross-border targeted lanes from BG's internally built database,



as well as other outside sources the Cross-border Procurement Associate has access to.High volume lanesCustomer commitments and future opportunitiesProblem lanesNiche marketsHit target KPI's for call volumes, carrier files updated, loads bookedDevelop entry level cross-border freight broker sales and negotiation skillsFollow proper carrier qualification (ORCA) and onboarding processes (RMIS)Build a sales portfolio from carrier cold callsAssist in developing and updating cross-border pricingIntegrate carriers with tracking and booking automation platformsCommunicate late deliveries and issue resolution when necessaryQualifications: Entry level training periodPosses willingness to learn and excelStrong work ethicWillingness to be coached and hit target KPI's
