Job Summary**
Responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in injection molding processes, equipment, and materials to optimize production, resolve complex issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities**
- Lead the development, optimization, and validation of injection molding processes for new and existing products, ensuring high quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze complex molding issues (e.g., cosmetic defects, dimensional inconsistencies, cycle time optimization) and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide expert technical guidance and training to molding technicians, engineers, and production staff on molding principles, equipment operation, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with design, tooling, and manufacturing teams to ensure moldability of new product designs and effective transfer to production.
- Evaluate and recommend new molding technologies, materials, and equipment to enhance capabilities and improve performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for molding-related defects and implement sustainable solutions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process parameters, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects,
to drive operational excellence.
- Support tooling design and development activities, providing input on moldability and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in injection molding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in various injection molding processes, materials (e.g., thermoplastics, engineering resins), and equipment.
- Strong understanding of mold design principles, tooling technologies, and plastic part design for manufacturability.
- Experience with scientific molding principles and process optimization methodologies.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
