We are looking for detail-oriented individuals to join our speech recognition project in our Independent QA team (IQA) to supervise and assess the work of large-scale audio transcription projects.
In this role, you will analyze long-form podcast recordings (30–60+ minutes) and perform high-quality transcription and speech annotation tasks. If you have strong listening skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience with transcription, we'd love to hear from you.
Your primary responsibility as QAer for this project will be to review and evaluate the work of annotators working on the above tasks, identify inaccuracies and flag any discrepancies with the provided guidelines or with the actual content being transcribed. Therefore, accuracy, consistency and linguistic precision are critical to the success of this workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Review transcriptions of long-form podcast recordings accurately following project guidelines
- Identify different speakers and assign consistent speaker labels
- Segment speech with accurate timestamps
- Identify the perceived gender of speakers
- Review audio quality and flag issues such as:
- Unclear or distorted speech
- Strong accents
- Incorrect language
- Synthetic or generated audio
- Verify and correct pre-annotated speech segments when required
- Ensure all annotations and transcripts meet quality standards
Qualifications
- Proficient in Spanish(Mexico) (spoken and written)
- High level of written English to understand guidelines and provide the required reports and summaries
- Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail
- Familiarity with regional speech patterns, accents and language variants
- Accuracy in identifying conversational flow and intent boundaries
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow structured linguistic and technical guidelines
- Strong analytical and listening skills with the ability to distinguish multiple speakers
- Successfully pass practice tasks within the client’s annotation tool before production work begins
Preferred background
- Prior experience in transcription of long audios or other annotation data collection
- Familiarity with voice assistant interactions
- Previous work in reviewing tasks that involve judgment-based decisions
- Previous work in report creation and error trend identification
- Previous experience in linguistics or data labelling
- Previous experience in Quality Assurance tasks
- Comfortable using web-based tools and applying time-stamped labels to audio events.
Other Requirements
- Basic computer skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- General knowledge of online communication tools such as Microsoft Teams
- Ability to work with audio that may include background noise or overlapping speech
- Availability to complete assigned tasks within project timelines
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and problem-solving mindset
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Self-motivated and comfortable working as part of a remote team.

- This project focuses on high-precision audio event transcription, and quality will be closely monitored
- Detailed instructions and training materials will be provided
- IQAers must strictly follow the guidelines to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
Working Hours & Tracking:
- Maximum 10 billable hours per day
- Time beyond 10 hours/day is non-billable
- Time tracking must be done via the assigned task platform
- Inactive time must remain under 10% of total working time
Task Availability:
- Tasks are released weekly on a first-come, first-served basis
- Volume may vary depending on locale and batch distribution
