Black Box Engineering is a controls and automation engineering firm based in Mexico City, delivering across Mexico and North America. We are hiring controls engineers who develop SCADA and HMI applications and also carry general controls scope through commissioning — engineers who stay with a system from basis of design to turnover instead of handing it off halfway.

WHAT YOU WOULD DO
• Develop and modify SCADA and HMI applications — AVEVA System Platform, InTouch and Historian. Ignition is a plus.
• Write and bench-test PLC logic, and build the test scripts that prove it works
• Produce and maintain design documentation: drawing packages, sequences of operation, methods of procedure
• Support commissioning in live, change-controlled environments — I/O checkout through integrated testing and turnover
• Work alongside installation teams on QA/QC, test procedures and punch resolution

WHAT WE NEED
• Engineering degree, or an equivalent hands-on record
• 5+ years in industrial control systems




• Solid grasp of control-system network topology
• Instrumentation calibration and startup experience
• Commissioning experience in live environments
• Spanish and working technical English — both, in writing and on a call

HELPFUL, NOT REQUIRED
• PLC- or DDC-controlled data centre projects
• AVEVA Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, Ignition, OPC UA/DA
• Rockwell / Allen-Bradley or Schneider PLCs
• Building management systems and HVAC control

HOW WE WORK
Senior-led and deliberately small. No handoff between the engineer who designs and the engineer who commissions — that seam is where most controls projects lose weeks. Mexico City office, remote-friendly across Mexico and LATAM, with occasional US travel.
