Job Overview
Mainspring is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to support our engineering team for our Linear Generator platform. In this role, you will build practical drafting skills by supporting CAD modeling and drawing work for COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf) parts, detailing out custom parts and tools, handling assembly rebuilds,



and implementing CAD modeling/drawing requests from the engineering team.

This role is intended for drafters who have developed practical CAD drafting experience or early-career engineers who are looking to build this skillset, applying their mechanical fundamentals to CAD modeling and drawing work. A strong candidate should be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to execute well-defined tasks with guidance from more experienced drafters or engineers.

Responsibilities

Create, refine, and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for COTS parts

Execute on high volumes of CAD queue tickets to incorporate engineering requests into 2D fabrication drawings, 3D models, and BOMs accurately and efficiently within SolidWorks and PLM

Perform self-reviews and peer reviews to ensure drawings meet ANSI standards and internal requirements before releasing files via PLM

Support maintenance of reference assemblies, updating meta
