JOB PURPOSE

The EHS Engineer is responsible for supporting all environmental, health, and safety aspects for the Mexicali, Mexico operations within the Medical Device Components (MDC) Business. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of environmental, health and safety policies in accordance with JM Corporate policies and objectives and to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations. They will need to proactively participate with the Mexicali leadership team offering solutions to many situations as they arise and actively promote and support a positive EHS culture. The incumbent will interface with the Human Resources department regarding workers compensation claims and, as necessary, property insurance carriers.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Specific accountabilities will include:
To provide advice, support and coaching to site. To deal with day-to-day EHS related operational issues, e.g. risk assessments, hazardous waste operations, and responding to general queries.
To interface with Government Agencies that deal with environmental,



health and safety. This includes the United States Environmental Protection Agency, United States Department of Transportation, California Occupational Safety and Health Administration, local water and air quality districts as well as other local authorities.
Management of and responsibility for ensuring the site maintains its ISO 14001 Certification
To support the creation, implementation, and delivery of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and EHS Improvement Program (SIP).
Provide EHS advice for specialist safety programs and activities including human factors analysis, hazard studies, ergonomic assessments, and general risk assessments.
Assist with the preparations and management of the site emergency planning arrangements.
To lead and carry out incident investigations as required.
