Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a part time (20 hours) contractor Project Manager to work with Technology Department committees and be responsible for organizing and reporting on various projects that the committees are exploring and implementing.

You are responsible for:
- Be an integral part in project planning, scheduling, facilitating, resourcing and reporting for Annual Plan and Department committees.
- Ensure work quality and delivery for agreed upon timelines for each project.
- Have the ability to interpret needs and requirements, translate concepts into practice, identify process improvement opportunities, quantify results, and make recommendations to the committee chair and delegates.
- Coordinate meetings, briefings, and activities across committees, teams, and the Foundation.

Skills and Experience:
- A methodical and detailed approach to work.
- The ability to work across multiple time zones and with teams and individuals that represent various cultures and have different communication styles.




- Manage tasks and scheduling with several projects simultaneously.
- Passion for encouraging continuous process improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills for risk mitigation and identifying task dependencies.
- Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability in all things.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.

Qualities that are important to us:
- Experience working in an international organization with globally distributed staff.
- Passion for Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.
- Understanding of free culture / free software / open source principles.
