Associate Cloud FinOps Engineer

Location: Guadalajara, Mexico

Hybrid, 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

Compensation: MXM 41,700/Monthly with full benefits

About the Role:

We are looking for an Associate Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Cloud Operations organization.

This role will support cloud financial operations across the organization's cloud footprint and help provide visibility into cloud and third-party technology spending.

The successful candidate will work closely with Cloud Operations, Finance, R&D;, Engineering, and Procurement teams to track spending, support forecasting, prepare financial and operational reports, identify cost trends and anomalies, and contribute to cloud cost-optimization initiatives.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines cloud knowledge, financial/data analysis skills, and strong Microsoft Excel expertise and wants to develop their career within Cloud FinOps.

Key Responsibilities:

- Track, classify, analyze, and report cloud-related costs and other third-party application and system expenditures against approved budgets.
- Support financial visibility across the organization's cloud environment.
- Collaborate with Finance and R&D; teams to support forecasting of variable and cloud-related expenditures.
- Prepare and maintain financial and operational reports for Cloud Operations, R&D;, Finance, and other leadership stakeholders.
- Create and maintain automated and semi-automated Excel reports using multiple data sources.
- Build reports using advanced Excel capabilities including: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, Advanced formulas, Data modeling
- Monitor cloud and third-party spending trends.
- Identify unusual spending patterns and potential cost anomalies.
- Proactively communicate financial risks, unexpected spending, or cost-saving opportunities to leadership.




- Work with Engineering teams to support cloud cost optimization initiatives.
- Track third-party spending associated with hosted applications and related systems.
- Support the creation and tracking of purchase orders.
- Help ensure cloud financial processes are documented, repeatable, auditable, and continuously improved.
- Work with multiple stakeholders across Cloud Operations, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and R&D.;

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience with: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, Power Query, Data modeling, multi-source reporting
- Ability to analyze and work comfortably with large datasets.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively across Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Cloud Operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Understanding of cloud billing and pricing models across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to FinOps or cloud financial management.
- Experience analyzing cloud consumption and cloud spending.
- Familiarity with cloud cost-management platforms such as: CloudZero, CloudHealth, Cloudability
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience detecting spending anomalies and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
- Experience preparing financial or operational reports for leadership.
- Exposure to purchase-order or third-party vendor-spend management.

What We're Looking For:

The idóneo candidate is analytical, highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with financial and cloud data, and able to translate complex spending information into clear reporting for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You should be comfortable working between technology and finance, rather than focusing solely on infrastructure engineering.
