cross-border procurement associate is an entry level position focused on training and development in cross-border procurement development.
duties and responsibilities:
- call cross-border carrier providers to fulfill commitments made to customers
- negotiate rates
- document and communicate offers
- use discretion to book loads
- use discretion to determine when to bring options above the notated carrier buy rates to service our existing clients
- obtain proper paperwork where applicable
- develop and manage carrier portfolio of “owned cross-border carriers”
- absorb and apply material learned in training
- get accustomed to both internal and external tms platforms
- provide load coverage assistance for harder to cover lanes
- generate carrier capacity for cross-border targeted lanes from bg’s internally built database, as well as other outside sources the cross-border procurement associate has access to.

- follow proper carrier qualification (orca) and onboarding processes (rmis)

- integrate carriers with tracking and booking automation platforms
- communicate late deliveries and issue resolution when necessary
