JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Preeschool Teacher Aide

REPORTS TO: PreeschoolCoordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
- Internship experience in early childhood settings preferred.
- Experience working with children ages 3–5 is an asset.
- Full professional fluency in English required.
- Patient, nurturing, and attentive to children’s needs.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




- Assist the Preschool Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and routines.
- Support supervision of students during instructional time, transitions, recess, arrival, and dismissal.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and clean classroom environment.
- Provide individual or small group support to students as directed by the teacher.
- Reinforce classroom rules and positive behavior strategies.
- Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Support students in developing independence, self-regulation, and social skills.
- Observe and report student concerns or progress to the Preschool Teacher.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in required meetings and professional development sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
- Follow all health, safety, and safeguarding protocols.
- Support school events and activities when required.
