The Opportunity
This role lives at the intersection of content marketing and artificial intelligence: someone who understands how LLMs retrieve, rank, and cite information, and who can build the content infrastructure that earns the company a consistent presence in AI-generated answers.
This is not a traditional SEO or content manager role. You will be building expertise in Generative Answer Optimization (GAO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
— emerging disciplines that require both the craft of great content and a technical understanding of how AI systems consume, index, and surface information.

- Develop and execute a GAO/AEO strategy to increase citation frequency in LLM-generated answers across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI-powered search surfaces
- Audit current LLM citation rates for the company and category keywords; establish benchmarks and set measurable citation targets
- Research and apply emerging best practices for structuring content so it is retrieved and cited by generative AI systems
- Monitor AI search landscape changes and adapt strategy accordingly
- Build a systematic testing and measurement cadence for LLM visibility: prompt libraries, citation tracking, and competitive benchmarking
