About the role At albo, we are looking for a high-performing Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and scale our core financial data infrastructure. You will oversee a unique hybrid environment powering critical services, including Mexico's SPEI payment system. We seek a professional with a performance-first mindset who actively leverages AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, automate repetitive tasks, and optimize database workloads. What You'll Be Doing At Albo Data Pipelines & Orchestration:
Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using
Python, Spark
and
Apache Airflow
to process high volumes of financial data. Cloud Data Infrastructure:
Architect, deploy, and optimize our data environment on
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Database Ecosystem Management:
Act as the guardian of our core data storage layer. You will administer, monitor,



and scale our hybrid databases: MongoDB and MySQL. Mission-Critical SPEI Operations:
Guarantee 99.99% availability, disaster recovery (DRP), and seamless data flow for our on-premise MySQL instances. Performance & Tuning:
Proactively identify data bottlenecks, optimize complex queries, refine indexes, and manage partitioning to ensure millisecond-level latencies across the pipeline and databases. AI Acceleration:
Integrate Generative AI tools into your daily workflow to speed up data modeling, automate ETL scripting, and analyze infrastructure logs. About you and the type of skill you'll need
Experience:
4+ years as a Data Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, or similar role, with foundational knowledge of Database Administration (DBA) in high-transaction environments. Cloud & Orchestration:
