Job Description
Mexico is seeking motivated educators to help strengthen English language learning at public universities.
Strong economic, cultural, and academic ties between Mexico and the United States have made English communication skills highly desirable. As a result, the Government of Mexico has prioritized improving English education. Many public universities, however, continue to face challenges, such as limited resources, large student populations, and varying instructional quality. For students from underserved communities, stronger English skills can lead to life-changing scholarships, international programs, and meaningful employment.
As a University English Teacher, you will support students and university staff to become more confident and effective English communicators. You’ll introduce the faculty to new instructional methods, planning approaches, and professional growth opportunities. Over time, these efforts will contribute to Mexico’s broader goals of competitiveness, cultural exchange, and expanded opportunity.

Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
AND
At least 30 hours of English as a Foreign Language teaching/tutoring experience with primary, middle, or high school students, university students, or adults.

Volunteers will live and serve in communities ranging from small towns to large cities primarily in central Mexico. Volunteers will live with host families during training and at least the first three months of service. Volunteers may need to commute up to an hour on public transportation to reach the assigned public university. Living conditions vary widely, with some areas having intermittent internet or phone service.
