About the Role
Our client is a technology-driven property management company operating a portfolio of over 560+ single-family homes across three U.S. markets. We’re looking for a Lead Accountant to lead all accounting operations, from corporate financials to trust accounting compliance, as we continue to scale.
You’ll take ownership of corporate books, cash flow management, trust accounting accuracy, and partner with leadership to strengthen financial discipline and transparency. This is a hands-on and strategic role adecuado for a detail-oriented professional with property management accounting experience and a strong grasp of trust accounting principles.
Success in the first 3–6 months means:
- Producing accurate and timely monthly financials
- Establishing strong reconciliation and trust accounting controls
- Improving reporting efficiency and cash flow visibility
- Building or optimizing internal/external accounting processes
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain and manage corporate general ledger and financial statements
- Oversee cash management, intercompany transactions, and internal controls
- Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analyses
- Support strategic planning, cash flow forecasting, and KPI reporting
Trust Accounting Oversight
- Review and approve all property management accounting entries for compliance and accuracy
- Reconcile trust bank accounts and ensure adherence to trust accounting standards
- Audit owner statements, management fees, and reserve balances
- Supervise internal or third-party accountants handling property-level financials
Payables, Receivables & Reconciliation
- Manage owner distributions, management fees, and reserves
- Review vendor invoices, GL coding, and utility billables
- Audit and reconcile all bank accounts and corporate credit cards (Divvy)
- Oversee Section 8 and tenant payment postings, refunds, and move-out accounting
Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and distribute
